36th Anniversary

Gary and I celebrated our 36th anniversary with a 2-night, 3-day trip over to Gatlinburg. We first drove through Hot Springs and took our time looking at the beautiful views. We stopped at the Bass Outdoor World in Sevierville and then stopped again at the Tanger Outlets in Pigeon Forge. When we got to Gatlinburg, we stayed in one of the nice Rainbow cabins that we usually stay at. We had a great time hiking and sight seeing and shopping in the little stores. We drove through Cades Cove one afternoon and were blown away with the breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. It is so beautiful and tranquil in the cove and we forget just how gorgeous it is there. We loved watching all the horses graze and play. We petted a couple of the friendly ones and decided we'd like to own a couple of horses ourselves someday. We also saw lots and lots of deer and wild turkeys. While in Gatlinburg we did all of our favorite things like eating at the Pancake Pantry and eating caramel apples at the candy stores. We had perfect weather each day and we really enjoyed the relaxation and the romance. On Thursday afternoon on our way back home we drove up to Cataloochee and spent four hours watching the elks. It is rut season and the big males are fascinating to watch as they try to steal each others' herds. We got lots of great pictures and videos of them bellowing to one another. Well that's our little anniversary trip in a nutshell. We hope we get to enjoy many more happy years together and return to our honeymoon town many more times.
