Washington DC Trip

Gary and I had a fabulous time in our nation's capital last week. I had to go to attend a technology conference for my work and we both wanted to go to the AARP conference later in the week. It was really good - in fact the best conference I have ever been to! We heard wonderful speakers and I took lots of notes on ways to improve my health, my relationships, and my life. The speakers included: Buzz Aldridge, Sally Fields, Dara Torres (the 41 year old Olympic swimmer), Richard Petty, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s daughter, Maya Angelou, Clinton Kelly, Dr. Laura Berman, Cal Ripken Jr., Martina Navratilova, and many others! We especially enjoyed the concerts in the evenings with Natalie Cole, Chicago, and Paul Simon. We also had a great time touring around DC: Arlington National Cemetery, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (the changing of the guards), the Vietnam Memorial wall, the Capital building, the White House, the Holocaust Memorial, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Smithsonian museums: American Indians, Natural History, Famous Art, Botanical Gardens, Air and Space, etc. and of course the Washington DC Temple. The 8 hour drive was not bad because of the great company and we even stopped at Southern Virginia University and toured around just for old times sake. The 9 days really flew by but we brought home wonderful memories (and numerous freebies from the 500 exhibitors at the conference.) Here are a few of the pictures Gary took...
