We had a fantastic weekend! On February 29, 2008, Leap Day, we drove down to Mooresville to Billy's baptism. It was a very spiritual event and the answer to many family prayers. We are all so proud of Billy's important decision. The Lake Norman Ward really came out in full force for the occasion. Billy is very popular with all the ward and they came to show him their support. (A note to all the family: save that first weekend in March in 2009 and start making plans to travel to Washington, DC for Amy and Billy's temple sealing. It will be a HUGE family event!)
Our beautiful weekend continued with warm sunny weather and lots of family fun. Saturday morning we got up early and went to Hunter's last basketball game for this season. I told him I would give him a dollar for every goal he made as a little incentive to really focus and stay in the game (when I am at his game he often wants to sit in my lap rather than stay on the floor in the game). So...Hunter really got excited and turned into a little Michael Jordan. He scored 8 baskets and would have scored more, except Billy, who is one of his coaches, told him he had to pass the ball off to his team members and be a team player (it was getting a little embarrassing in front of all the other parents with Hunter stealing the ball from the other team and scoring goal after goal!) After every basket, Hunter would turn around and hold up his fingers to show how many goals he had made and how much money I was going to have to pay him. He is quite the little basketball starand entrepreneur!
Saturday afternoon was so beautiful. We went to Hunter's friend, Dylan's birthday party and then came home and played outside all afternoon. We took a really long walk and jumped on the trampoline for hours. (Both Grandpa and Grandma are feeling it today...)
Sunday, Billy was confirmed at church and received a beautiful blessing. Next Sunday he will receive the Aaronic priesthood. After church, Amy and Billy and the kids had to travel to Hickory to a family wedding shower, so Grandpa and Grandma headed back to the mountains to rest up from our eventful weekend.
